INTRODUCING PAYCENTRE’S BIG POS

Hello Partner, we are very excited to announce that our big POS is now available to new agents and old agents that want to open a new location or swap their mPOS for the big POS. 

You can walk into any of our offices in Nigeria or reach out to a PayCentre verified ambassador to get your big POS with a registration fee of 25,000 Naira only, for new agents and 20,000 Naira for existing agents that want to swap their mPOS for the big POS. 

Here are some questions you may have about our big POS, below. Kindly read through carefully to know all that you need to.

Do I need an activation code to use the big POS?  

  • Yes, you need an activation code.  

Can I change or swap my mPOS with the BIG POS?  

  • You can swap your mPOS for the BIG POS for 20,000 Naira only, you can register and get the BIG POS at any of PayCentre offices closest to you or from any verified PayCentre Ambassador. Our offices are listed here, kindly click on this link   https://www.paycentreafrica.com/contact 
  • Please note that swapping your mPOS to the Big POS will automatically increase your monthly maintenance fee to #1,000 and it will start counting from the next month.

What do I need to be able to swap my mPOS device for the BIG POS?

  • Swapping costs 20,000 Naira 
  • The mPOS must be in good working condition.  
  • Agent or Ambassador must bring the mPOS to the office before making payment and collection of the BIG POS.
  • No need to open a new agent location if you want to swap. 
  • Agents whose mPOS is faulty and wants to swap with the big POS are to pay the full 25,000 Naira. 

Must I connect my phone to the BIG POS to transact?  

  • No, you don’t need to connect the BIG POS to your phone for transactions. But you must set up your PayCentre account on the application before transacting.  

What transactions can I do on the big POS without the PayCentre application?  

  • You can carry out cash-out/withdrawal on the BIG POS and then carry out all the other transactions such as funds transfer, card-less withdrawal and bill payments on your PayCentre Application. 

Is there a maintenance charge on the big POS?  

  • Yes, the monthly maintenance charge for the BIG POS is N1,000 while the mPOS is N500.  

Can I use 2 PayCentre POS devices in one location?  

  • Yes, but you would need to have two agent accounts,  just select the big POS when setting up your PayCentre account. 

Why is the registration fee for the big POS more expensive?– is it still free and can it be collected back by E-SL? 

  • The cost of production and sourcing for the big POS is more expensive than the MPOS, the BIG POS is still free and can be collected back by E-SL if agent becomes inactive. Registration fee is 25,000 Naira. 

Where can I register the BIG POS?

  • You can register and get the BIG POS at any of the PayCentre offices closest to you, our offices are listed here: https://www.paycentreafrica.com/contact or from any verified PayCentre Ambassador.

Does the BIG POS print receipts? 

  • Yes, it prints receipts for cash out transactions

Do I need the CAC/Business Registration Certificate for registration?

  • CAC certificate is not a must for new agents, but if the business is registered, you can provide us with the certificate for registration. 

Can I check account balance using the BIG POS? 

  • No, you can’t. We are working on that feature and will notify you when it is available.

Why is my Paycentre application asking me to use BIG POS for card withdrawal transactions when it is the mPOS I have? 

  • That is a settings mistake, to resolve the issues of being unable to perform Cash out transactions when your PayCentre app is telling you to use the ‘BIG POS’ when you have the mPOS.

                    3. Before logging in as admin, you will notice a Change POS type written at the bottom of the page.  Agent should click on it and select MPOS, then proceed. 
                   4. Then you should go ahead to log in as administrator, Fetch POS account, and login your pin to perform transactions 

How do I connect the big POS to the PayCentre application?  

  • You don’t need to connect your big POS to the PayCentre application.  

Is the big POS still free and can it be collected back by E-SL?  

  • The BIG POS is still free and can be collected back by E-SL if the agent becomes inactive. Registration fee is 25,000 Naira.

        good day sir the big POS machine has debited a customer I was not able to logging disputes on it but I could not resolve it because the transaction is not showing in the pay centre app ,why the transaction not showing in the paycenter app all the transactions in the big machine is only showing print out but it’s not showing in the paycenter app

  4. I have the small pin pad and really want to change to big pos. This should be allowed a and there should be a rebate. Also can the big pos do transfer and pay bills ?

    1. Hello Partner, as an old agent you can swap your mPOS for the big one for 20,000 Naira at any of our offices. However, the big POS can only carry out cash-out transactions.     This is totally Scam. I paid 15k or 14k for caution fee on MPOS. Now you want 25k for BIG POS. Which suppose to be the business partner’s choice. All you would do is to stop withdrawal on MPOS. So you want to tell me, that all I paid will be useless.

  11. My mpos has been asking me to use the big POS and I’ve not been able to transact with it since yesterday? Once I click on withdrawal it asks me to use the big pos. I have uninstalled and even redownload the application but it’s still bringing the same message.
    Please what can I do because I have not been able to transact with it since yesterday.

  12. I am an old customer, how many hours can I spend to get this big pos.?
    Can old customer still bring requirements again.?
    Or just come collect? And pay for registration,

    My question is that: (1)Any transactions we do on big pos will it add on our paycenter wallet directly in the app?

    1. Yes it adds to your wallet directly, No, the BIG POS does not use a sim card, you don’t need to connect the BIG POS to your phone for transactions but you must set up your PayCentre account on the application before transacting.

  14. Paycentre I applaud the introduction of big POS, it’s a welcome development. But why can’t u make the big POS to carry out all kinds of transactions( withdrawals, fund transfer, bills payment etc.) Now someone will have to carry big POS, Android phone and external mobile printer for printing receipt for fund transfer since we are using the app for fund transfer. As am writing, the app can’t even print receipt anymore it crashes when the receipt icon is touched. Most customers would request for receipt of their transactions be it withdrawals or fund transfer incase of any issue. U people just mess up everything. Pls can u fix the app to start printing receipt and include fund transfer and other transactions on the big POS. And also include balance check with customers debit card on both big POS and mpos.

    I observed that the big POS has battery issue.
    The battery is not as durable as mpos.
    2.Things are changing, is suppose to be an Android type.
    Reason being that if someone is using WiFi cannot connect the big POS.
    3.Why will the big POS be for only card withdrawal? Customers are asking for printout, because some are paying for something, as needed print out for proof of payment.

    1. You can get it for someone, provided that you have their documents as follows:
      – A valid means of ID
      – Passport photographs
      – BVN
      – A recent utility bill and
      – A certificate of registration of business name if the business is registered. (The registered business name is not a must for new agents)

Why the big pos always showing CONNECTING, RECEIVING BYTE also the battery dies quickly, since I collected this big pos I have never feel happy, the app can’t be use to pay bill, recharge card, data, betting, my 25’000 for registration is like a wasted fund because poor/weak battery never allowed me to performed transactions or to concentrate on other things I’M SAD AND DISAPPOINTED ON PAYCENTRE.
